  1. Well, now! I'm always glad to see a new roleplay server pop up... hopefully it sticks around longer than some of the others I've grown attached to. I'll definitely be keeping an eye open, at any rate.
  2. Well, after a long break waiting for things to get better with Zomboid... I've come back to find someone has brought New Dawn back from the grave yet again! I would have already applied to join, just like I did the last two times... but it seems this newest site doesn't like me. I get nothing but errors when I try to create an account and apply. While sad, I suppose it does give me time to go look at the mods used.
  3. I see a lot of familiar faces here... ... that's quite reassuring.
  4. I would very much like this to be true, but even if it's not... the link to the 'world info' page on the server's guildportal site indicated the zombies are set to be 'sprinting'.
  5. I was willing to overlook the fact that the Superhuman and Super Tough zombies stayed, even despite the lore of the server changing and erasing the very 'cure-based' lore which created them. It made the zombies a little less pathetic, which I definitely understood some people want. But of course, those griefers just started using the hordes chasing them as a weapon. So now we still end up with thousands of super-strong, super-tough zombies bashing their way through our homes and being a general pain in the ass to kill... despite it only being three months into the apocalypse and all. I can get past that. It's not the playstyle I would choose myself... I prefer weak, pathetic zombies in huge numbers that move slow enough for me to out-walk. But one thing I cannot get past is RUNNING zombies on a laggy server with superhuman strength and being tough enough to survive a direct blast from a shotgun. That's not fun... it's needlessly further 'gamifying' a server which is supposed to be based on realism and roleplaying. So let me be very blunt about this matter because I've been waiting a long while for the server to come back now and I'm a bit frustrated: If the sprinters stay, I don't.
  6. Me: "Hey, look... if I die... I want you to know something." My "Friend": "What's that?" Me: "I've looted all your food and water and weapons... and all the food and water and weapons from every house in the neighborhood... and I've taken it to a hidden location in the forest which is now surrounded by the undead. I know you you guys poisoned me. I don't know what you thought you'd gain from it, but you really should have reconsidered." My Friend: "What? Nobody poisoned you. Did you eat that rotten soup in the fridge?" Me (Dying): "The soup was rotten? Huh. I guess I ate it without checking... damn..." My Friend: "To be fair, it was made with rotten uncooked chicken and cheese. You're pretty screwed." I die. Moments later, I return as a zombie and begin killing my friend while he's gone AFK. He returns just in time to see himself being mauled to death. My Friend: "Oh god. Oh god, how did this happen?" and finally, "Yeah, you bit every part of my body. I'm dead."
  7. Five hours. It's now been down for five hours. How long was it down yesterday, in total? How long will it be down tomorrow? Every day it crashes and goes down for hours. Every day, without fail, at least once. Sometimes we get lucky and there's someone to put it back up again... but far too often, I spend the entire allotment of my roleplaying time sitting here waiting for the server to come back. I really like it here. I don't want to have to give up on it, but I don't have enough time to dedicate to developing characters who aren't going to be available to me for entire DAYS. I'm investing considerable time in participating in this world, only to have the world disappear at seeming random. That's time I could be spending developing other characters for games and servers that I -know- will be available, and that I -know- will be restarted promptly if they crash.I can justify it for now because of the enjoyment I get out of the times when it works. That justification begins to lose merit as those times become fewer and father between. Please... PLEASE... find some way to resolve this constant problem. Some days you have upwards of 20 people on this server. That's a lot of folks to leave twisting in the wind.
  8. Oh wow. That's pretty awesome... you're an impressive artist! ... and I'm not just sayin' that because Teri adores her, either. That's genuine talent right there.
  9. I'm more concerned about the constant down-time every day than I am about the likelihood of a reset. Updates and Hard Resets don't happen very often. The same can't be said for hours-long server downage,
  10. I'm pretty certain this isn't your typical 'downtime' thing. This is a crash, followed by hours of nobody being online who can actually put the server back up. Which I can understand, to an extent, but this has been HOURS and HOURS now. It'd be nice if there was someone to periodically check and make sure the thing was actually running... not only for our sakes, but also because otherwise you're essentially paying good money for a server that's not actually being used for a quarter of the day.
  11. It's a pretty amazing game, that Project Zomboid... ... but it breaks my heart to have to pause my plans for three hour intervals while the server crashes and there's nobody to go turn it back on again. It's almost as if they expect me to have something else to do.
  12. Yep. Server's down again. Just remember... Multiplayer Zomboid is the nightmare of all servers. So much crap going on, everywhere, at any given minute.
  13. What madness is this? I'm alone on the server? Has everyone gone to bed? Has everyone perished in flames spawned from campfires in their cabins? Has the server just come back from some horrible crash? Maybe I just came on at a bad time...
