  1. After reading the Antiseptic thread, an idea popped into my head about different types of not only treatments, but wounds and injuries one can receive. Like when I fall off the platform for the 11 millionth time, it strikes me as odd that all I have to do is hustle inside, chow down on food and wait to heal. If we had the same injury in real life, we would most likely have fractured or broken a bone. So I think we should have multiple types of injuries that a quick hit of food will not be able to fix, and will require extra medical attention to treat it with. And depending on the injury type and maybe what caused the injury, there can be a chance of illness, or at least penalties to a character until they fully recover. Some injuries, treatments, and effects could be: Minor cuts- Bandage, butterfly bandage?. Simple mundane injury here. Puncture/stab wound - bandage, butterfly bandage?. Would require some antibiotics to help prevent chance of illness ( maybe possibility of getting the zombie virus if stabbed with a knife that has zombie blood on it?). Wide Cuts/slash wound- Stitching, bandages. Antibiotics can help reduce chance of illness You must stich this wound up or you will continue to bleed out. Gouged out eye- sterile gauze?, bandages. With only one eye your field of vision is reduced, but at least you could wear a cool eye patch. (Not sure if a blind character could be a thing or how it would be implemented). Sprained arm/leg or broken arm/leg- the arms would require a splint and a sling, and it will take longer to loot and unable to hold 2 handed items or wield a weapon with two hands. The legs would require just a splint but huge penalty to moving, having a walking stick or a crutch(es) can reduce the penalty. ( Recovery should only be a few days to a couple in game weeks, not realistic but it would be very boring/difficult to play if your person had to wait weeks or months to recover). Bite/Mauling wound- Bandages, stitching. Not just by zombies, but possibly from feral animals or pets of PCs/NPCs, antibiotics can help reduce chance of a NORMAL INFECTION ONLY (If bitten by a zombie pray to the gods it won't kill you). Envenomed- Anti-venom. With the knowing that animals will soon be introduced, it could be possible to encounter venomous animals native to Kentucky and be bitten by one. The venom could have a chance to kill a player and if they could find very rare anti-venom in a hospital somewhere, it will cure them of it. A venomous bite will make PCs and NPCs very sick and weak, if pets are bit they have an extremely higher mortality rate. Amputation- This has been debated to hell and back on weather it will be in the game or not with threads dedicated to it solely. Only listing it as more of an acknowledgement that its an injury that can be encountered.
  2. I got a few I'd like to add onto here: Negatives- Neuroticism: -6 Negative emotional effects are doubled for anger, anxiety, sadness, and panic Butterfingers: -2 Takes longer to scavenge and equip/draw weapon Reclusive: -4 More difficult to befriend NPCs and build relationships with Bipolar: -6 very likely to be aggressive/enraged at other NPCs Slow: -2 Take longer to read through skill books and receive a lower skill boost from them Racist/Intolerant/Misogynistic: -6 permanent negative relations to NPCs of a randomly chosen ethnicity, gender, or religion Positives- Social Butterfly: +4 Easier to befriend NPCs and build relationships with them Dexterous: +2 faster scavenge time and decreased weapon equip/draw Religious: +1 small happiness buff when carrying a religious book your character follows Focused: +2 Skill book read time decreased and gain a higher skill boost from them Iron Gut: +4 Less likely to get sick from raw or rotten food, lowered negative moodle effects for eating burnt food
  3. Horseback riding sounds pretty cool, although probably one of the most difficult to pull off out of all the options. Not only is caring for a horse a very time consuming endeavor, but they can be stubborn animals and your not going to win a fight with one. Also if the horse gets spooked, your going to hit the ground hard and that could be lethal if trying to escape a horde. On the plus sides, you can go practically anywhere with a horse. Also, feeding it won't be hard, not with all the hay, grass, apples, and oats you can get for them, also having a good source of water for it to drink. If horses (and possibly other domesticated animals) are added, would be nice to have the ability to make a feeding and watering trough for them to feed from, especially if you do not want them to be eating out of your garden or wandering off to get food/water.
  4. One Thing that has been annoying me is how near useless the crowbar has been in the game. Sure its a very durable weapon, but because it tires characters out so fast and has no other uses, most people avoi picking one up They are quite the versatile tool and hopefully something can be added where you can pop open locked doors, windows, and maybe other items that could be sealed later like crates. It doesn't make sense that you can only smash windows and doors open with one, but can't take the quieter and easier approach of prying them open. Another thing is that they could give you an option of lifting up manhole covers which brings to the next part of this suggestion; Sewer exploration. If not able to be added into the game, then maybe a mod, but it would be interesting to delve into the sewer system below the towns. On the positive side, they are alternate routes to get from one side of a town to another, and can hide from zombies topside. On the negative aspects, sewers are not a good place for your health, too dark to see where your going without a light, zombies could already be roaming down there, and a good rainstorm can flood parts of the sewer, making places inaccessible.
  5. Well I think its a possible feature that can be added in, there have been average people in real life who have amputated their own limbs and have survived the tale. Its not unrealistic that characters can attempt the same feats. One example is Aron Lee Ralston's " Between A Rock And A Hard Place" where he ended up cutting his arm off with a multi tool after being trapped in a canyon for days, rappelling down a cliff and most obviously, surviving the whole ordeal. Not only arms and legs could be amputated, but fingers, toes, hands and feet as well, and not just because of a zombie bite. Getting a nasty infection or frost bite may force you to remove those bits and chopping a finger or hand off is much more survivable then a whole limb. That being said, your chances of survival are extremely low since blood loss or infection will most likely kill you. Also if you, or a buddy is chopping any of your limbs off, your already in dire straits to begin with. Even if you do survive the amputation, that doesn't mean the zombies or gone, or that society has been restored. You still have to survive but now you are at an even greater disadvantage. If you are missing an arm, you cannot wield a large array of weaponry, or use certain weapons effectively. Ever tried swinging a sledgehammer in one arm? I sure as hell can't; nor could I wield a 12 gauge properly. Not only that, but if your missing a leg you can no longer run away from a fight. Sure maybe with a little carpentry DYI you can make yourself a peg leg, but you'll never be as fleet footed as you used to be. So I say let players go ahead with their hack happy dreams and pray their characters are the 1-10%ers that survive their backyard amputations. Congrats to them that they bought another day to live, but now surviving just got a whole lot harder, and a lot more bleak.
