I take that as meaning no Left4Dead style mutations. The zombies I'm talking about aren't superhuman or "special infected", they just make sense. Policeman zombies by the police station and zeds benifitting from the gear and traits they had before zombification.
I mean, zombies in suits and ties in the Knox Bank, Spiffo's fry cooks in aprons, farmer zombies, doctor zombies.

Then again, I guess the Putrid Zombies idea does kind of fall into the mutant side of things but it would be amazing if zeds decayed overtime. I mean they already get slower and such but there's no visual representation.
Imagine if they became more infectious as they decayed, they're leaking out fluids from all over their bodies. It would add a fear factor to the late survivors, going out and killing zeds would be easier but so would the chance of becoming infected making the late game more risky and less farm in fort, rinse, repeat.

I hope so. And yeah, the zombie with grenade attatched is a bit over the top but that scene from season 5 of the Walking Dead really struck a chord with me. But the devs said no to military aid, whether this means there will be no military (but... But Fort Knox?) or if they'll just be useless and fall early, I don't know. Either way, military zombies will be few and far between if they're around at all.

Nah, you watch in horror as your body moves about and starts humping the nearest door.

With the coming of NPCs, I guess that's obvious. But I can only hope they'll benefit from the gear.

EDIT: I also didn't see that "playing as a zombie" was on the list of "no's" until my fourth read. :I
It doesn't have a "[n]" next to it so I probably thought it had something to do with personal hygiene. Sigh... I can still dream of my days as a zombie. T_T

There's probably all of two poeple using alts in a noticable fashion on Redboid right now. They've been talked with.

Well I'm all for having options, I'm not letting hyperbole be the reason for it . .

And frankly, I'm not disallowing alts on Redboid unless there's a serious problem, anyway. At this point their usage as utility (farmer, caprenter, hunter .etc) characters are common for PZ multiplayer. Disallowing it would just be kind of a "fuck you" to our playerbase.

But sure, otherwise the idea is sound: force the SteamID to be the primary key in the database if the rserver admins want that (particularly valuable for non-whitelisted RP servers that want to regulate their player base).

    Wait a second... That's a lie!
Crossing the streams is a Ghostbusters reference. Ghostbusters was released on June 7 1984, and its sequel was released June 16 1989.
    7 + 16 = 23, 84 - 89 = 5, 5 + 23 = 28.
Build 28.3 was released on July 2, 2014. 28.3 - 28 = 0.3. Remove the decimal point and round it and you get 3.
    2014 is 30 years after 1984. 30 + 3 = 33.

    July (7th month) + June (6th month) + June (again, 6) = 19.
There is no 19th month on our calendar, but emphasis on our. The Tzolk'in calendar has 20 uniquely named days, and the 19th is named Kawak.
Kawak has five letters. 19 - 5 = 14. 14 divided by two is 7. 7 is considered a lucky number, along with 6. 6 + 7 = 13. 13 is an unlucky number, but 7 isn't, so this must be representing the struggle and triumph of Project Zomboids development. 13 - 7 = 6. We're back to 6 again, so 66. 66 divided by 12, the maximum amount of months in our calendar, is 5.5. 5.5 rounded upwards equals... Mother of god, 6 again!
    We now have 666.

Since 666 is the number of the devil, we can assume Satan will be unleashed when Build 33 is released. Jesus has an alternative name, Yahweh, which has 6 letters. Spiffo has 6 letters as well.
From this we can gather that Spiffo is, indeed, Jesus Christ.

Wait, what were we talking about again?

Hi all ! I am here to show you my second mod for Zomboid, this time, it's a trait mod that will allow you to play a blind character !

Soon, the game will feature 5.1 sound and much more ambiant sounds like zombies footsteps, etc... So I decided to give you the ability to play a blind character, to focus more on sounds. I think this mod will be way more interesting when the new update will hit

    Mod First Release 1.0

    Features :

    - You can pick a new trait that allows you to play a blind character
    - The blind player has a really tiny "seeing" sight where you can see zombies even behind you
    - You can't de-zoom + everytime you look away the screen gets darker (keep your cursor close to your player while sneaking !)
    - You have excellent hearing

    Troubleshooting and planed features :

    - Doesn't work in local co-op (sorry... It's planned)
    - Black and White vision with shaders is also planned

    Changelog :

    Version 1.0 (release)
    - New Trait to play a blind character

Feedback is appreciated, Blind trait is currently a +15 Trait, but I think it's a bit tiny, I may increase it to 18, what do you think ?

Go to %username%\zomboid\workshop. There you'll see a mod called ModTemplate.
Launch the game, then press the workshop button in the lower left-hand corner. You'll be prompted to upload, update, or change an existing mod. ModTemplate should be listed.
Effectively, all you do is duplicate the ModTemplate set up, customize the workshop.txt, and install your mods in Contents/mods/

The respawn its set at 2 months, mostly for new players, so they can have a start. Being an open/public server i think its better for gameplay. Apocalypse here started only 5 months ago (in game time).
We are a Soft RP server, but i try to encourage people to act their characters. Also in this matter, by being a public server, some people just enter without knowing the rules or just cause the server was on the list. If you want a Hardcore RP experience i think the best place to go is New Dawn.

Yep, just know that the first player to encounter the new additions will sometimes see distortions until it's loaded a second time.
Seems to be the simplest way to deal with map mods, though.

I play on the server a bit and there are some people who RP, but there is also fresh food spawning when its supposed to be 4 years into the apocalypse which kills it for me, There is a community i know of on the server but at the same time the RP level is pretty low quality considering i see OOC in local chat without brackets and lots of people join the server without RP names and nothing is done about it. Not saying don't give it a try but if you are looking for serious RP this isn't exactly the place sad to say. Still a cool community. This review is pretty much just about the RP and how immersive the server is, and when there is fresh food 4 years in, i cant help but complain

Hi there Striker, yeah my plan for the server is to be a whole community around and do some things together like a map when build 33 comes up, for the game part this days there are a couple of communities and some players regrouped in houses, i think most of them are friendly, and we dont have any villiains around yet, so you are most welcome to survive our huggy friends, and find a place with us that you can call home

So as a new participant to PZ multi player i am looking for a consistent server to call home.
So far i have tried random servers and everywhere i go people just want to kill me

is this server actually community/roleplay based like you say?

i would love to find a group of people to actually play with instead of running around avoiding other players for fear of being KOS'd

it's discouraging when all you want is to experience multi-player and cooperation and continually get shot in the face for no reason.

i love PZ and i think finding a good group would enhance my enjoyment of the game

just checking out various forums for servers and found yours to be appealing

any feedback would be appreciated immensely

EUDOXIO reacted to LeoIvanov in Zombie Rally Group size range, instead of one static number.
I think he means more like a randomized "limit" of maximum Zombies for a "group". For example, right now it has a fixed limit (that you can change in sandbox), because of this the hordes will never form in groups higher than that limit number, meaning if there's 40 zombies in the area and the limit is 20, then we'd see two zombie clumps with even amount of zombies in each.

What he proposes is to see random amount of groups with random amount of zombies clumped into it. For the same example, with 40 zombies we'd instead see 1 group with 10 zombies, 1 group with 14 and 1 group with 16, without having all of them reform into two groups with 20.

EUDOXIO reacted to BoogieMan in Zombie Rally Group size range, instead of one static number.
Yes, Leolvanov is exactly right. What I said is not about making the game easier, but adding more variety to the existing difficulty instead of every horde being identical. The settings I am talking about adding don't exist..  It's too neat and mathematical at the moment. Zombies shouldn't be so organized, and it's never surprising since you always know what to expect since it's always the same.

This is specifically about suggesting the Rally Group Size having a range of sizes, or at least a random size between two amounts so it isn't always the same size of group.

To illustrate what I mean, the picture on the left is basically how zombies hordes look and distribute right now. The right picture is how it could look utilizing what I am suggesting.

    Hey!
So I've been thinking that a cold map would be really interesting and so I'm making one

    What Will It Be Like?

I was thinking of making it around Anchorage, but I am open to ideas. I would also like to make one in the Nome region, as it would give a nice uninhabited/alone feel. I also want to make it so it is not so about zombies (although it will, trust me ) but also about surviving in a harsh environment, little food, cant really grow food a lot, etc. Anyway tell me what you think and again, I am open to suggestions.

    Features

If you want to help with this, I would love help, its my first map again and I am open to any help, wether you want to make something for it or you wanna give me cookies.

    Okay, one final update (hopefully).

I have followed the instructions down to the letter, and everything seems to work nicely: the lotpacks and lotmaps are correct, the spawnpoints have been generated, the objects.lua is in place, and the .info file is in place.

However, Phoenix is not appearing where it is supposed to in Muldraugh. At the moment, it starts at 38x36, but the map is entirely independent (black borders). Have I missed something?

    [EDIT] I'm a tool.

Fixed and uploaded! Many thanks Ringo and Suomiboi.
