  1. Well... The problem is that my guy is at day 24, started farming (8 cabbage patches) and the area around my base is pretty much clear (and I'm in the city center!). Depending on how this continues, I might just roleplay my guy into going crazy and finally running into a horde shooting his handgun like a maniac. Perhaps we could establish a max time played after which the player has to kill himself, so that we don't use up all the resources and kill all the zombies so fast. (Would it be possible to somehow respawn the zombies? In certain locations, the only danger is gonna be hunger since every non-perishable is gonna be looted and all the zombies are gonna be killed and that's kinda boring)
  2. these are the end times there was no hope for survival this is how you died Wow. They should add a photo of overly attached girlfriend on the loading screen.
  3. Oops, guess it's my turn now . This may take a while or I might die immediately, depends on if a horde finds my amazing base with like a million windows (each barricaded with one plank ).
  4. I still feel like foraging makes getting food very easy, to the point that farming is not really necessary. Even with foraging being nerfed in winter, the amount of non-perishables you can find with just lvl 2 skill is ridiculous. Farming now requires careful planing and canning ingredients, while a player who does foraging just needs to stock up on crickets...
  5. Yep, I haven't continued a survival save after dying for so long that I forgot that you can't chose your spawn point. Anyway, you go first, I haven't started playing yet. Hope you die quickly, so I get to play soon .
  6. I'm doing it! By the way, should we post whether we're spawning in Muldraugh or West Point? The map is quite big, and it would be nice to be able to find some signs of previous player activity.
  7. *accidentally falls from building* "SHIT MY LEGS TERMINAL DAMAGE WTF!!! Oh wait I'm fine." *scratched 3 times in a row* "OH GOD I'M GONNA DIE NO I'M TOO YOUNG PLS!!!!! Oh wait no infection." *sees a lonely zombie wandering around base* "Hmph, let's clean up..." ...gets bit.
  8. Right now, NPC's seem to be to answer to every major problem the game has right now, atleast according to the community. Will it work out like that? Not that I don't trust the devs, but I'm still a bit sceptical about the NPC's role as the ultimate answer for the "fix late game by killing you before you get there" or whatever you wanna call it. But hey, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised
  9. 8 months after the apocalypse with a hypochondriac character that somehow managed to survived from scratches like 7 times (wasting excessive amounts of food to survive the fever(s)) was probably the only time I genuinely didn't have any food at all after having looted like 100 or so houses. It was easy after I started farming, but since that is fixed now...
  10. So I'm wondering, how exactly does the guard skill work? Does it work only against enemies in front of you? What is the base chance that a zombie will scratch/bite you when it hits you, and by how much is it reduced with guard skill levels 1-5 (and what if you play as a construction worker)? Edit: Nevermind, found the scratch chances on the wiki (the lowest possible seems to be 8% as a construction worker with lvl 5 guard, and bite chance is constant 25%). However, I'm still wondering if it works the same way on zombies that are either in front or behind you.
  11. Actually this is how you died sounds like a good name for me, i think most people when they first got the "This is how you died" thing got a shiver, is like the game is challenging you to survive and the game knows you will die, like you cant do shit against that but you will try and ultimatly die. The "This is how you learnt to survive!" sounds like a kids camp of scouts moto at the end of a ceremony with a video montage. Like i said, i dont think you want to make the player go "I dont need no stupid tutorial", you need somehow to convince the player to play the tutorial first. I agree, "This is how you learned to survive!" doesn't really sound right. "This is how you died" is cool, but isn't it a little long for a game difficulty name, especially for people who haven't really played the game before? The "This is how you died" phrase has a place in the heart of every PZ player, but if you load up the game for the first time, it's just gonna be confusing. Oh, and I don't know if it's just me, but using the term "casual" when talking about video games...
  12. Jarred Strawberries that require vinegar would be bad. Vinegar and strawberries together? blah There's no vinegar in jam, there would have to be a different recipe to make Jam that doesnt use vinegar. Sugar and some citric acid sure, but no vinegar! You should try jarred strawberry compote, it can last for years and it's great! Just the fruit, boiled water and sugar. Also works great with apples and pears.
  13. Bit of an off topic, but will we need to make a new character once build 30 is implemented, or will our characters just get a fresh level 0 first aid skill and it will be working just fine? Also, will the map be reset?
  14. The stealthy kill with the kitchen/hunting knife could be amazing. The thing that I like about the idea is that sneaking past enemies would finally be an option instead of either leading the whole horde away or going full Rambo on hundreads of zeds every time you expand into a new area. The main benefit I see in making stealth kill a thing is that right now, one of the main problems PZ has is that once you get a few baseball bats/axes, you can just smash through any horde you encounter. However, if there was any other option, people may consider if they want to risk getting bit while fighting, however small the chance is. If this seems overpowered in any way, there is always the option of turning zombie vision to max. Oh, and about the "getting through a horde" methods-does the light from a campfire attract zombies? It could be a fun way of horde control on "insane" setting.
  15. I see no problem with the option to disable fire spreading. I agree that it's fine to burn someone's house as a RP revenge, but griefers running around on non-whitelist servers, setting the stove on in every house they encounter is kinda stupid.
  16. Orienteering has never been a thing, but out of all the suggestions for what it might do in the future, the one I probably liked the most was no/lowered speed reduction when passing through trees. Also, maps are going to be implemented at some point, right? They could be affected by the orienteering skill, but I cant think of a way that wouldnt be stupidly hard to implement, too OP or just immersion breaking.
