From what I've read here in the topic.. most people are looking at it from the point of view of the person who has their base all set up and are just saying "tough tits" to those who are just joining for the first time. Nothing like adding in MP to your game, and then making it so those people buying it new on steam instantly have a bad time and kill sales when they advise their friends not to buy it. There needs to be a way to deal with griefers without punishing players. Lets face it, most people here are going to 'shoot on sight' anyway. So you spawn in, have your baseball bat and are looking around for... ANYTHING. You come across a base that someone is in the process of gathering materials to finish building so it hasn't been altered yet. You go into the house as a new player, and instantly realize something is wrong. you're trying to get out and "BLAM".. dead. because of the 'shoot on sight' mentality of players. Now you're ban from the server for an hour or whatever. Well.. that killed my interest as a new player. Didn't ask me what I was doing, didn't give me a chance to leave. Nothing kills a game like the players who have all the power, not giving the new players any chance to get out alive, and then being punished even further because of that.
