Ontogenesis got a reaction from grammarsalad in Effects of Not Sleeping
Hallucinations were indeed in early versions of the game with ghost like zombies behind you that disappeared if you tried to lool at them. In real life you need 2/3 days to experience hallucinations, but anomalous experiences can occur after a single sleepless night e.g. seeing shadows out of the corner of your eyes.
Generally sleep deprivation doesn't lead to fainting or collapsing. Although you may fall asleep very quickly in moments of, say, sitting down and resting. In sleep deprivation studies people have stayed awake for 13/14 days as long as they stay active. There should definitely be harder consequences for sleep deprivation though.

Ontogenesis reacted to Rathlord in Depth - Choose Your Own Adventure!
You don't see any locks nearby, except the one on your door. It doesn't have have a keyhole, rather it is a standard bulkhead lock. You recall that bulkhead locks are used around the bathydome to secure areas in case of flooding. Some of them take keys, but yours just has a large wheel on the inside that closes it. It's not accessible from the outside when locked.
Remember that asking questions and taking actions are a different thing. If you want to take an action, you'll have to get a consensus or at least some support for the idea. I will sometimes allow extra actions that aren't prompted in the scenarios, but you will also have something I like to call "magic turn dust," ie the amount of things you can do in one time period. You may cap out on this some turns and "write-in" actions may not happen.
Your gardening may have garnered you some minor knowledge in biology, basic herbal medicine, cooking, and tea-brewing.

Ontogenesis reacted to ShylokVakarian in Causes of Death - The Statistical Study
Back to Study Central
Welcome to the unofficial-but-officially-endorsed statistical study on the causes of death in Project Zomboid. This started out not as a study on causes of death, but rather on the number of scratches from zombies it takes on average to become "zombfected". Alas, my baby has grown up into a much better study.
The study is now completed.

Ontogenesis reacted to ShuiYin in Small but Important Suggestions Thread
Since in the mondoid its mentioned that small but important stuff are added such as drying of towels and that we are urged to suggest in the forums. I have started a thread so that others may pile up their most important feature that is not very complicated but you think should be in vanilla.
I want to suggest some others that might be a good thing to add
1. Removing of zombie ash (burned zombie - currently no way of doing this unless using a mod)
2. Addition of Red and Black paint (its rimary colors and black is a popular paint colour for some).
3. Removing redundant distribution files that has been replaced to avoid confusion.
4. Making wearable stuff like clothes and skirts to become moddable like the rest of the items ( this might be hard but will add so much to the game if its enabled )
Thanks

The suggestions are fine but the general tone across the posts is a bit contemptuous. Being contemptuous invites anger, as demonstrated above. Honestly we just the forums to be a pleasant place to be around.

Ontogenesis reacted to lemmy101 in IWBUMS AWAY!
Oh probably not, but it'll certainly be a Zomboid a great deal closer to 1.0 than we currently stand in terms of current / planned features. Even after all these features are in we'll likely want to do a few builds to polish everything up before the 1.0 sticker and to fill out any gaps in the features we add. We want no 1.0 mishaps!

Ontogenesis reacted to Z3759xy in Downtown(On Hold)
Hello Community,
Some time ago, I started looking into/playing with the Maptools, in my spare time.
After I made my first building, "it" evolved into a whole cluster of buildings.
This "cluster of buildings" looks very close to an area where I grew up (althrough a bit modified, to fit the PZ-universe).
For now, there are 2 Cells (not complete).
But I like to expand it a little further, by making it a 4 Cell city.
There are some buildings I used/adjusted, made by other community members:
- DoctahWong_cortman-medical
- Doublebrain_ abandoned-factory
- Jinja_house-1 and house-2
- mendonca_modern-villa-R
- Phex_garages
- Veged_small-house
Many thanks, to those(and all the other) members for sharing.
Downtown Mod-folder:
Dropbox
or
Zippyshare
Instructions:
Special thanks to The_Indie_Stone, and all who made it possible, for releasing the Maptools!
Suggestions, ideas or critism are welcome.
If you find any bugs or issues: please do reply or send a pm, thanks.
Kind regards,
Z3759xy

Ontogenesis got a reaction from critical jim in Easter egg on vanilla map
There's quite a few to find, some which you may not get because of how long the forums have been going. For example, that road you linked to with Enigma's books also has a reference to mendonca, Robomat, and myself

Ontogenesis got a reaction from Magusdl in Immunization
Problem with this suggestion is that it makes the assumption that zombification is the result of a virus. Most viral infection theories do not fly in the face of the behaviour and survivability of a zombie. I think TIS have not declared much lore regards the cause and nature of their zombies, so would be difficult to support any suggestion that infers this.

Ontogenesis reacted to {\/\/} King {\/\/} in I used to be a minor modder for pz
Hi. I'm Shawn. Back in the day (as it were) I used to mod on this game a bit. I collaborated with another modder to make a small building called MooTown Coffee (or was it cafe?) Essentially an ugly, cow colored cafe for another building. I think it made it into the old community map, I am not sure. I also started working on my own mod (which I still have all the art for) that was meant to be the secret murder house of a serial killer/ bad thing doer. It was a few months before the character models were all switched (which killed the few clothing mods I had been working on, but excited me because I thought it would be easy to make new enemy models as I wanted to make a huge mod that made the game into the mist instead of zombies, or at least add boss zombies of some kind, rant over, I digress)
What I am asking is: Is it possible to use my old files to mod the game to finally make my murder house come true or do I have to do the whole deally over? I will try to attach some samples.
First the coffee shop that started my life in modding so many years ago...
Now into some of the good stuff, the murder house.
***WARNING***
some of the images within are disturbing, gory, twisted and not for those with weak stomachs.
So does anyone want to either mod with me, have me do some art for your mods (especially if you are something that is essential at this point like Hydrocraft or Terminus), or help me make this into something and try to get it into the Terminus pack etc..
And in summation I apologize for being out of the loop. I haven't played for years and I am just getting back into it. I really miss the dummies..

Ontogenesis got a reaction from syfy in I am starting to feel guilty about this game
£5 in 2011. Price of an expensive pint in London. Within 5 years had a modding stint, learn some programming, been to numerous meetups and EGXs, played D&D and made some friends, all on the indie stone forums. Also, project zomboid is great too
