  1. They are, as far as I know. Also, generally a story or summary is made to let everyone know the notable events that took place.
  2. Awesome! Gonna wait a bit longer to see if there's anyone else, then I'll get 'er started!
  3. It probably won't matter much if no one knows what to do. These poor dwarves are doomed to death either way. Seriously though, don't sweat it. It takes more than a year for a fort to completely fall apart. Okay, that was a lie. Anyways, we can choose a (relatively) peaceful place to make the fort. So, if you have any desire at all to participate, cast all doubt on your ability aside, and give it a shot! Losing is fun, after all! So! Augur and I (edit: and schmonzo! sorry)are definitely in. We can work something out for that, too, Rathlord. I consider millitary my specialty! (Lukian definition of specialty: lock them all in a dark dangerous room, drop the survivours on attakers) If, Austin, Headshot, and Addy, you change your minds, just let me know! I'm being serious when I say don't worry about how good you consider yourself at it.
  4. Heh, that'd be fine. You can just get one of the later slots.
  5. Heller. Seems like it would be fun to get a succession game of Dwarf Fortress going with you, fellow Zomboiders! (though not in a reanimation biome... shudder.. dwarves and zombies don't mix) For those unfamiliar: Dwarf Fortress is a ASCII community management/fort building with lots of depth and such http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/ In a succession game, players would take turns playing through a year in the fortress's life, then upload the save for the next player to do the same within a certain amount of time. Repeat until everyone is dead, insane, or otherwise lacking a sound mind or body. Would anyone be interested?
  6. It is indeed confusing, and hard to get into. The interface borders on terrible in the eyes of some. But it is well worth the effort, in my opinion. It has depth that no other games (That I know of, at least.) do. (if there are others, I'd love to know about them ) The wiki is great, and has an excellent Beginner's Guide! I really should probably stop talking about Dwarf Fortress.. Edit: quote added
  7. Yay DF! I love that game. A lot. Its number one on my game-list. Sorry, Zomboiders. I recently got back into playing it. And then got angry at adventure mode when my Legendary Wrestler got insta-kill-head-punched by a bandit... So now I shall build a Dwarven Star Fort. Complete with lava moats. And maybe a coliseum. Sigh. The joy. Also, don't use DFHack. It will make you feel guilty and it's addictive. Like drugs. Not that I'd know. really, I wouldn't. This thread is turning into 'How many times can I talk about Dwarf Fortress?'... It'd be fun to do a succession game with the PZ community. Would anyone be up for that? I assume, Rathlord, you would want to get more of the hang of it first?
  8. Jesus' name is 'used in vain,' but not 'Muhammad' or 'Buddha'. So isn't it safe to say its already 'biased to certain religions' ?
  9. Looks like people are split roughly 50-50 between 'kill everyone' and 'help everyone.' I haven't decided yet. It'll probably depend on if I'm playing with friends.
  10. I like the idea of having familial NPC's, but perhaps not as the OP suggested. The option to specifically choose which and how many family members to have running around might not balance well. One could add 20 'sibling' NPC's, and then just round them all up (or even not all, just some) and have a huge posse other NPC groups would be hard-pressed to stand up to. Perhaps leaving it as a checkbox would be good, as players would have more balanced experience, without having no choice to exclude family should they wish to roleplay a 'loner.' This got me thinking, it will be interesting to see how family members ending up in rivaling groups react.
  11. Or not giving her painkillers, until she starts deliriously calling you 'Baldsp Bob' I assume how much you are carrying will also affect climbing speed? Edit: shortened quotes
  12. Ron Burgandy. Stay classy, zomboiders.
