So, in the absence of real vehicles, like cars, it would be awesome if we could make use of something readily available in shopping districts like Shopping Carts (Trolleys if you're in the UK). The mechanic would be pretty simple - it counts as a movable tile (50 weight max) that you have to right-click to take. It then significantly slows your movement speed and causes a bit of noise but allows you to move far more loot/gear than you would otherwise.

If you wanted to take it really deep, you could make it so that Trolleys had different rates of speed depending on their terrain (like how PCs move slower in forests). If on paved surfaces (car parks, roads, etc) they move at normal walk rate (1). If on grass they move at .5, like moving through forest. For off-road terrain, you could have a wheel-barrow or hand-cart. These would not be effected by terrain but would cause fatigue, otherwise the same mechanic.

Right now, if I have a huge loot cache (I just "discovered" the large warehouse in Muldraugh) you don't have to do it in stages over the course of days. If you had a cart, you could load it up and move most of the cache wherever you needed. The balance is the noise made. I can move equipment faster, but the rattling noise of the trolley would probably draw more local attention. I also have to unequip the cart before I can defend myself and am limited by the terrain I can take it on.

So I have a bug that I've encountered probably 10 times in the last hour of gameplay that is a bit difficult to isolate:
Essentially if I'm in the car OR outside the car attempting to interact with the Vehicle wheel (keyboard V) then, in some circumstances I become locked in the vehicle. I won't be able to turn the vehicle off, exit the vehicle (either with E or by using the keyboard wheel) and the only fix is to quit the game and reload. Oddly enough, the game doesn't appear to throw any errors when this happens.

I think crashing into things causes character damage in the code, but because some of the damage doesn't make sense yet (crashing into things that would actually fall apart like fences, saplings, windows) they probably have invincibility on.  I tried taking the invincibility off with cheat menu mod, but it didn't do anything. Must be built into the build.

I could be wrong, but I'm sure that the "new animations" pipeline and its associated remodels will probably bring about some new palettes, if not from the Devs, then from modders.

If you break a window...you should be able to unlock it by reaching inside and then just lift it up and avoid the glass.

For whatever reason, my character has simply stopped panicking. It happens only if he's followed into a home by a zed, and then, only rarely - so I haven't noticed this.

I think maybe this got a bit two serious.
    Two things come to mind.
    1) When you see someone jump through glass in a movie it is always a substance called "sugar glass" which doesn't turn into scalpel-sharp blades during the process. Don't try at home, unless you really want an ER visit. I have a huge scar on my hand from a pint glass exploding while I was hand-washing some dishes. Ten stitches and I didn't even put pressure onto the broken piece - just sliced like a projectile when it shattered.
    2) I think the point of this post is perhaps akin to the notion of sprinting in the game. It gets you away, but early on it is a good way to get mobbed and killed. I think there are a lot of behaviors that should be included because people WOULD do them and they would likely get themselves killed for the act. This game doesn't have an end-state, it is about simulating the 1001 ways to die in a zombie apocalypse. Your score is the amount of time you survive! Giving the player more options that are STUPID and would likely result in death - things people do when they panic - only deepens that experience and goal. How many times will you jump through a window? Probably only the one time when you end up looking as though you just took a bath in a blender. But, are there cases where it MIGHT BE the best option? Like if the house is on fire and zed is pouring through the only other exit? YES. Then I would jump through a window.

Well, not ALL food is listed as suitable bait. You can't use most of what you grow, nor most of what you find in fridges or cupboards.

So, right now, you can only use fresh food to bait traps - I think that might not necessarily be true. Perhaps this is a balancing decision, but I think a rat would be just as interested in rotten cheese as fresh - similarly a bird will go after moldy bread as frequently as fresh bread.

This would be a useful way, before you level your cooking skill up (which takes a lot of grinding) to make use of SOME of the rotten food scattered around in the game.

I like modes of transport additions. Someone mentioned bikes which i think would be great too, and as ive said in other threads, just because something has TERRIBLE drawbacks doesnt mean it shouldn't be in the game. More dumb choices is good. Each player has to sort the cost-benefit of every action for themselves.

This might get a bit heavy, I apologize, but here we go:
You're going to die one day, inevitably. Are you saying that you're incapable of happiness because of that fact?
I would hope not, as that is the human condition:The capacity for happiness in the face of inevitable annihilation.
If you look at literature - especially the autobiographies of those who have survived extreme circustances - remaining open to glimpses of happiness is not only possible but essential. As Viktor Frankl put it: “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” He was referring to his time in a Nazi Concentration Camp.

So, I'm pretty sure that I've taken care of my character pretty well - he has a stash of (naughty?) magazines and books, drinks tea, eats good, fresh food, takes his anti-depressants - but he never seems to be happy! He's never gotten more than a little bored in the 2 months he's survived, and only sad once (which sent him on a bender). Why is it that there isn't a positive side to the mood(le)s?

Would it be possible to implement some positive moodle if you get your mood stats greater than zero?

You wouldn't necessarily need it to be anything more than basic - say "Relaxed" (Bonus to skil acquisition) or "Confident" (Bonus to attack and damage) or "Happy" (Increased disease resistance). These aren't hard and fast suggestions - more an opening for discussion. Has anyone else wondered about this?

It's probably a matter of balance but I agree using SOME rotten food for bait would make sense. Since we don't use all of the food when we use it as bait and are able to use the same food-item a few times, maybe rotten food could give one time uses.

So as it is i've noticed its rather hard to tell what your aiming at from a long distance and while on top of structures it seems impossible to shoot down.

Years ago i was a big fan of the Commandos games, They had a top down isometric view and when you would use the sniper rifle you would get a small scope appear on your cursor which was very simple and easy to use.

You can see it in the screenshot

I'm sure the way bullets travel is alot different in both games but I thought something similar would work well in PZ with weapons that have a scope attached and just thought id suggest it.

Houski reacted to Svarog in More craftable furniture and some minor improvements to existing ones.
So yesterday I've decided I want to customize my safehouse some more, after spending some 4-6 hours staring at lua scripts I managed to implement some more buildable furniture including corners for shelves.

I'll be trying to implement the stuff in the suggestion over the weekend and If i somehow manage to get it into working order I'll release it as a mod. Still, I can't promise anything, like I said, my coding skills are next to none and even though I seem to pick up on stuff quickly some things are still beyond my comprehension.

Edit: Also, placing shelves in corners in most houses is not possible due to the way they are constructed, in player made houses a corner is made of two walls whereas in pre-built houses it's a single 'wall corner' sprite.
