  1. "THIS IS NOT A TOY".... Only in America Can you spell the word #39
  2. on to #37 then? Not a fan of the game but just to keep some variety in the posts oh &..... try & find the #37
  3. Well obviously.... I'm not having any problems with it, Zeds not having any problems with it.... No one else who uses the Mod is having any problems with it. So it stands to reason that its either your OS (we're both windows) or how you have "installed" it.... Hope you can get it to work.... Did you try the 3rd option? Try this too
  4. Its not really changing the camera.... If that's what your talking about. Just adding effects.... The main point you are referring too is "re-writing the entire game" If I've missed your point, could you post a quote from "How to write a good suggestion" or wherever the point is that your referring to
  5. You've got to be joking.... that's TOTALLY unrealistic jk I like the idea of the screen showing that your panicked.... I'll expand on it for tired too, maybe it could fade out a bit? The current system works ok, you get panicked/tired then all of a sudden your bit by Zed.... Your like "WTF!.... How did I not see that guy.... OH, I'm tired" .... But this this way you know your vision is reduced without having to double check your moodles & if anything making it harder to avoid the zombie you didn't see.... ..... Sounds just that little bit more immersive +1
  6. ^^ Cheats.... There's no 33 there DA represent #34
  7. Cool.... Since I'm only working on NecroForge atm, I usually just test in there
  8. Need to read them A LOT more than twice.... Unless I missed something recently Last time I checked, the player only read half of the remaining pages each time you clicked "read" making it impossible to finish the book the multiplier increases the further you get into the book Back to the OP though.... In terms of game time, your reading an entire carpentry manual in an hour or so. Sounds pretty fast to me
  9. I'm assuming you just want to test your .lua files? Its been a while since I've done that myself but I think they should load if you put them in "....\Steam\SteamApps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\lua" Just make a new folder there so you can remove them again easily.... "....\Users\....\Zomboid\Lua" MIGHT work, but like I said I havent had to do this since before the Modloader If those dont work, you will have to set up your Mods filesystem.... I explained to someone else how it works here EDIT You should see your .lua file load in the console window if you run PZ in compatibility mode EDIT 2 OnPlayerUpdate doesn't carry a key value..... Just use a: if isKeyDown(keyvalue) then inside the method
  10. NecroForge works in the same manner as any other Mods for the most recent releases of PZ, if your having trouble installing Mods there are other topics around on the subject.... The only issues I've heard of from Mods not deactivating is if the Mod wasn't deactivated inside PZ before deleting their data, this can be fixed by deleting their IDs from "loaded.txt" in "....\Users\....\Zomboid\mods\" If thats the folder that you extracted the NecroForge folder to.... I have no idea whats going on Other than that, the only other thing I can suggest is to COMPLETELY re-install PZ by both removing from steam & deleting the whole "Zomboid" folder from your users directory, installing PZ again & starting from scratch.... If that doesnt work you may want to start another topic elsewhere in the forums to get help from one of the moderators or someone with more experience troubleshooting Mod related problems
  11. #27 proof that over commercialization has its uses
  12. The EXACT condition from ItemPicker.lua is: if ZombRand(10000) <= ((((itemNumber*100) * ZomboidGlobals.LootModifier) + (zombieDensity * 10))) thenwhere itemNumber = distribution no. ZomboidGlobals.LootModifier = is initially set to 0.6 (I havent had much to do with this, dont know if it changes based on game conditions) zombieDensity = a value based on chunk data which is never 0 & is capped at 8 So for the sake of your example: ((0.001*100) * 0.6) + (8*10) = 80.06 if ZombRand lands on 80 or lower the item will spawn.... this is at MAXIMUM EDIT: My Bad..... I Overlooked if itemNumber<0 then itemNumber=0.1;endBut this only occurs if the player character is unlucky (the trait unlucky) Containers are filled when the player walks onto an adjacent gridsquare
  13. I haven't touched anything to do with NecroEchos.ini, its fine the way it was for the last "version".... Just unpack & overwrite the existing NecroForge folder
  14. Just a new table that will get merged with NecroList onGameStart. I will write NecroForge to merge the new list which will be empty until modders add new items to it, rather than NecroList itself.... I'm just worried about people loosing the items they've added to NecroList when ZedHead updates it. But hey, if people think its unnecessary I'll just try writing the parzer again.... Its hard to motivate myself because I tried when I first started working on the mod & failed.... Still don't know if its possible EDIT: Its not really a new version, just that new vanilla items have been added & some "bugs" have been fixed
  15. That was my original thought too, but vanilla uses them.... Although they don't go any smaller than 0.1, bedroom = { other = { rolls = 2, items = { "Base.Vest", 5, "Base.Shirt", 4, "Base.Blouse", 5, "Base.Trousers", 5, "Base.Skirt", 7, "Base.Shoes", 7, "Base.Sheet", 9, "Base.Pillow", 9, "Base.Socks", 5, "Base.Belt", 5, "Base.BaseballBat", 2, "Base.Pistol", 0.5, "Base.Bullets9mm", 0.5, "Base.Bullets9mm", 0.5, "Base.Bullets9mm", 0.5, "Base.Bullets9mm", 0.5, "Base.Bullets9mm", 0.5, "Base.Duffelbag", 1, "Base.Schoolbag", 3, "Base.NormalHikingBag", 0.8, "Base.BigHikingBag", 0.5, } } }, After looking at the math in ItemPicker.rollItem in ItemPicker.lua it looks like it could go as low as you want, as long as the result of: ((itemNumber*100) * ZomboidGlobals.LootModifier) + (zombieDensity * 10) isn't lower than 1, in which case the item would never spawn Maybe the problem with OP is number of rolls associated with the choice of container? [all] [shelves] will roll 3 times for each item, where as [bedroom] [other] will only roll twice
  16. Just an external list that items can be added to, so your custom items dont get removed during a NecroForge update
  17. I'm all for it & I could do it.... BUT..... I'm a qualified welder/fabricator (called a "boilermaker" in Australia... Certificate III in Engineering) & people in this forum seem to think that fabricating is too hard for the average joe At the end of the day I think the current water barrel system is a happy medium between realism & playability..... PZ is a "realistic" RPG not a survival simulator..... I'll add an alternative thought to your post though.... What about survival skills? Drinking from leaves while it's raining or gathering condensation, for example.... There's probably a word for it but I'm no survivalist, just spitballing ideas
  18. They're legal in Australia but if we want cartomisers with nicotine in them you have to import them That's what I what I was getting at though.... Compare the "stamina" of a person that smokes with the "stamina" of a person of a similar fitness level, that doesn't smoke, & you wont see much of a difference unless the smoker has been at it for 10-20 years
  19. I bought one.... working up the motivation to quit, doing a couple of days a week atm Back on topic though, I had a health scare a few months ago when I started getting chest pains. My initial reaction was "Oh CRAP! I smoke!" but after getting checked out my only problems were an iron deficiency (your heat starts beating faster to try & compensate, like 110 bpm at rest), a Vitamin D deficiency & the light emphysema.... Even with the proper safety gear, I'm pretty sure the fumes & other crap I breath in while fabricating are doing more harm than smoking.... Have you ever seen how the smoke from galvanized coatings act? It solidifies.... Seriously, the SMOKE SOLIDIFIES into this stuff that looks like spiderwebs. The thought that I might have that in my lungs is scary
  20. As opposed to being eaten alive?..... I'll take asphyxiation any day. As for the other long term side effects, I've been smoking for 11 years & the only time I even notice the emphysema is when I'm endurance running or full on sprinting.... I seriously cant say with any certainty that, given my lifestyle, that I could do better than that anyways.
  21. its the wrong module reference, if you open up fishingitems.txt you will see that up the top it says module fishing.... That means its in the fishing module not the Base module. Change Base.FishingRod to fishing.FishingRod & it should work
  22. The Pool Ball doesn't seem to be blended at all & probably gets away with it because of the different neutral colors. The Bowling Ball looks HEAPS better. I wouldn't worry about the style too much, your a different graphic artist & it stands to reason that you will have a slightly different style (like Doublebrain said). It definitely fits in with the other PZ sprites & I would say it is a happy medium between the 2 examples you gave above. Nice work
