  1. My table is dancing on the street and i'm thinking to myself "that would make a great david bowie song", but then The beat started
  2. Ugh.... I thought I did that already..... (sigh) I'm starting to loose track.... Rather than complicate the entire thing, I might add an option to add & name favorite tabs.... Its just that there are already WAY too many buttons.... That & add an option to disable the sound effects, I shouldnt be forcing ppl to listen to that laugh everytime they open NF
  3. To be fair, PZ remembering your UI layout is fairly new.... I'll do it though Which buttons are you talking about? I COULD clear the textbox when you spawn an item but what if you want to spawn more than one? I could add a "clear search field" button..... I'll have a look anyways There is a few UI tweaks that still need to be done, just waiting on a PZ update....
  4. Well..... Good! They must have realized I was right before I did
  5. "Can read any file"? Are you just referring to the file extension? Because I haven't noticed any change to the getFileReader method.... Still seems to be pointed at the lua cache directory
  6. Any reference material? Or just by description?.... What style? Portrait? Concept? Scene? or just, "look how awesome my guy is"? Ill have a go, assuming you like my style & don't mind me tagging it & putting it in my portfolio
  7. If I'm understanding it right. If you wanted zombies to behave in a different way you could write a whole new Lua Entity for them, add some options to the sandbox menu & spawn your new zeds instead. Come on Demon Plague Zombie Dragons Almost
  8. Or better yet, Dragons Cant wait to implement models of my own
  9. Fair enough Granted I hadn't looked at that before I posted, once a thread has reached a certain length people tend to just scan through it.... Still, I stand by my statement though.... Your work comes off a little bit cheesy, both in survivor stories & in your more serious work. An example would be in your piece entitled "Baroque", you glance over magic which is fair enough but at other times make reference to general archetypes (augmenting the sword for example).... I feel as though I would understand better if I was playing the same games or watching the same movies.... It seems like an "in" reference, is what I'm getting at. A more professional piece would either glance over it entirely or guide the reader through what they needed to know rather than relying on plugs which ALWAYS come across a little cheesy.... "A Sensible Man" on the other hand guides the reader the entire way through the story. Still.... make me feel like a prick for criticizing, why don't you This is a piece I'm working on for PZ entitled "Resident of Muldraugh" Its an A2 sized poster, part of a 3 part series based on the intro of the game I might add that I thoroughly detest showing people W.I.Ps but given the conversation, I dont think it would be fair not to put myself out there.... Feel Privileged I am aware that the denim texture doesn't suit the rest of the pic & I don't add shadows or highlights until I have drawn the light source
  10. I knew that RoboMat was doing the "coding" but was under the impression that Rath was doing the majority of the creative writing.... No offence intended but Drummer is on a different level, far more descriptive & professional. Though I am sure notes, letters & journal entries are a difficult medium for storytelling Collaborative?
  11. Style is the difference between art & science..... Yeah, sure, if you asked someone with a diploma in commercial art they would probably say that your doing this wrong & that wrong but at the end of the day photo-realism isn't the "right" form of art.... Your equally as good as half of the comic strips I have seen in my life.... granted I'm not much into them, but still.... If you are comfortable & create good looking work within your style then your proficiency with colours & lighting are irrelevant
  12. I think your posting in the wrong forums..... I can tell good writing from bad writing & this is not bad writing..... My only thoughts on the story are..... It reminds me of R.L. Stien & I predicted the twist around the time the newcomers entered the protagonist's home..... I am a rare breed that can appreciate & understand virtually any form of creativity &, nothing against my peers in this forum, this is about the extent of the creative writing here..... & here (other than what you have read in this thread) Having never pursued creative writing before, my only recommendation would be DeviantArt..... the majority of their members are "artists" & photographers but there are a decent number of poets & writers among their ranks as well.... Other than that I cant help you..... If it were up to me I would accept you into your course already EDIT: If your interested, I'm sure RoboMat & RathLord would be happy to have your skills involved in the survivor stories mod for PZ.... That's the sort of thing that COULD make the difference between a placeholder & an actual implementation
  13. I actually "fixed" the UI window for this mod..... If the key Connall described doesn't work & your running in windows, there is something wrong with the mod because it hasn't been kept up to date..... IIRC mac users were having trouble with that hotkey If that's the case try NecroForge in the WIP section, it has a UI button & you can bind the hotkey to whatever you want, in game.... That & the fact its my mod
  14. N-N-N-N-NECRO THREAD Those animations aren't getting any better unless they increase the polly count. Their textures & shaders are doing a good job of hiding it but their models are extremely low polly & the "robotic" nature of the animations is due to the resulting, severely limited rigging. Unless they pull some crazy Dead Rising moves, I'm gonna bet on the graphics not improving.... Whats the deal with 3d isometric games anyways? The only perk to it, that I can think of, is to hide your crappy models & if thats the case.... why not go 2d instead ?
  15. I purposefully made it hard to follow by adding a theme to the "code"..... Just for shits & giggles sorry I'll clean it up at some point
  16. damn.... I thought I fixed that.... Well, I did, I just didn't have to
  17. You know what.... I think I'm gonna do it now............ ohhhh, & a flying monkey magic cloud ........... hmmm....... you know what, I think I could actually do that Seriously though, is it really necessary to treat mod suggestions like this? Its not like he's suggesting it get implemented into the game
  18. I don't judge people on their beliefs. Eccentricities are what keeps the world interesting Seizure, Anyone?
  19. Thanks for the heads up, I didn't even consider that a possibility. Should be an easy fix though Glad you like it Edit: The whole UI is jury rigged atm. Ive made derivatives of 6-7 UI elements & overwritten %50 of their functions. At some point I'll have to go back through & re-write it into a new UI element instead
  20. Don't have to make me feel better about liking her.... I'm guessing I'm neither the 1st nor last Reznor fan to end up liking some form of electronic dance music, given how much of it had him as inspiration
  21. As long as its music it cant really be unrelated to the topic... Still freaking out about there actually being cool dubstep There I did it, I used the 2 words in a sentence..... I..... I gotta go take a shower Edit: Ahhhhh...... Thats Better
  22. I wouldn't mind different people using different descriptives if there was absolutely no way to write around it. A medical examiner would be more likely to refer to them as a descriptive observation, "re-animated corpse" for example, while a news reporter would be more likely to name them in a way that everyone would know exactly what they were, "flesh-eating ghouls" (Romero Again ) I seriously doubt there would be many people on the planet who would be zen/chill enough to give a pet name to the monsters outside that are trying to eat them alive
  23. ^^ It had me at "T - Virus, Cons - Makes you look like you really need to sneeze" A green zombie with Orc teeth.... that must be an oldie.... 40 Year-Old maybe Back to numbers I suppose #41
  24. I USUALLY listen to electronic/industrial rock/ambiance/post-rock.... So bands like NIN, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Сны Моего Неба, White Zombie, etc. I tell you this so you will understand the full implications of my next statement I'm hopelessly addicted to Lindsey Stirling I'm actually having a little bit of a breakdown over it, I don't think I'm capable of using the words "cool" & "dubstep" in the same sentence This filmclip didn't help at all either I'm stuck somewhere between, "WOW she's talented, that's a really creative filmclip" & "SHE'S HOT" EDIT: I'm just gonna say it's Trent Reznors fault He's awesome, but i't was him & his mrs. that got me moving that direction
  25. Since the Devs are going Romero style, I'm gonna say "them" or "those things"... eg. "Help me get these sheets on the windows so those things outside can't see us" "There's not too many of them out there now but keep making too much noise & that will change" If you think about it, that's actually the way people talk.... How many times a day do you use the word human? You take your dog for a walk, How many times do you use the word dog? I actually think anything else will make the dialogue appear cheesy & intentionally avoiding a name for them would make for some pretty interesting creative writing EDIT: "I don't need protection, I took out three of them on the way here" Further more avoiding a name for them allows the player to fill in the gaps themselves & call them whatever they want, just like avoiding the lore
