  1. whats the difference of being able to spawn it there anways (after walking there as godmode and invisible) I mean: its the server admin for christs sake. if he thinks its fun to grief players then he will sure see that no one plays on his machine for long... I think this function twould EASE the burden of a server admin. see where players are, see amount of zombies... even the odds...help players out. the same way it would make griefing easier, it would help in actually HELPING his players on his server.

    Stumps

+1 and would change the endeavour of flattening farmland in your overgrown backyard into a month-long project. so: +1 from me
  3. i wonder ow many people would willingly press a glowing heated object on a bleeding wound, but nonetheless: +1 from me
  4. i have a suggestion that probably is old and seemingly was already in the game. give the server admin something liek this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsL_7xQnCSA a top-down view of the map (maybe not the full map but yu can scroll around it) and show where players (future npc´s) and zombies in that vicinity are. make it possible to rightclick on the map and do vcertain stuff like -spawn zombie -spawn horde -etc....
  5. edit thr serverOptions.ini there´s a tag calles SpawnItems = add Base.BaseballBat should do the trick

    linux server

problem solved: read/write privileges must have to be put in place (of course..it´s linux) when running the server as steam user, the db needs to b read/write-able for the steam user as well. sometimes it´s the little things

    linux server

hey there yeah it´s me again. I am still fiddling with server configurations on my debian machine. I noticed the following: when I fist start the server, the world.db doe not get any update.. i got no server account. manuall editing it doesn´t seem to work. has anyone else noticed that ? so far, linux server business ist just... lacking in my experience. i mean it runs, but the admin part desperatly needs some love....
  8. indeed. but in order to be able to run in circles you have to hav enough space. in crowded maps with small streets and narrow halls........ but I agree with you
  9. oh nice. thx mate. seems rather... straightforward even though I don´t know a thing about lua. but this can be done I think.
  10. is it possible to make a recipe that prouces more than one result ? this is what I want: recipe Open Box of Chips{ChipsBox,Result:Crisps=10/Crisps2=10/cardbox=1,Time:10,} so opening the box is supposed to produce the two types of crisps PLUS the empty cardbox. i that possible at all ? thx
  11. ok after fiddling around a little here´s what I ve managed to come up with: 1. not possible / not tried as of yet as I cant seem to get an admin account going 2. not tried yet 3. manually changing the sandboxsettings.xml does indeed change the settings. I was able to start a server and completely deactivated zombies. then changed the valus and booted back up and voila. zombies. so I assume that´s how it´s done. next on the roadmap: building a webfrontend to be able to stop / start the server change server settings administration of whitelist anyone with me on this ? I am working on a debain 7 machine and my programming skills are meager if existant at all
  12. not yet, but implementing that is trivial and I will get to that. BUT: you would need a new set of items for that -cardbox (new) -ducttape (1) (or scotchtape (2)) I mean the idea to be able to make a box that fits 100 nails out of thin air ist just ... unrealistic. so I will implement the cardbox items.. then I might just implement the recipe to make the filled boxes...
  13. Hi there, I have asked in some other threads but I think it might be smarter to just start a new, dedicated one: Two questions: 1. server commands not through the client ? anything possible ? (stopping, starting to start it off) I know there´s ctrl+c to stop it, but is there another way ? 2. hard reset of server ? how´s that done ? 3. changing server settings in windows there´s the PZserversettingsexe , which changes the sandboxsettings.xml file. does changing the file manually in linux change anythign at all ? thanx in advance
  14. I am working on a debian7 linux server. I installed phpliteadmin it requires php5-sqlite followed the installation guide and it works like a charm. all I need to do now is to check wheter the changes have any effect on actual gamepla at all.
  15. I wanted to know: what kind of DB is that file ? how can I edit it cleanly ? thx in advance
  16. all the PZserversettings.exe does change is the Sandboxsettings.xml file. i tried changing those values manually but couldnt test the results... will do so tonight.
  17. indeed. +1 from me
  18. there´s the PZserversettings.exe play around with that. should work with windows servers

    Lot Levels?

shouldnt it be possible to easily add "basements" and such to the map then ? I mean by making all houses level 1 by default, you gain lvl 0 for implementing basements... no ?
  20. I was hosting a linux server and played with a friend to test things out (and get him hooked to buy PZ) technically it worked well but the zombies were too much for him to survive the first minutes.. also: spawn points seemed to vary . he once spawned in the same spot three times in a row and it was already crowded with zombies. (the small house with large wooden fence) but when I spawned I was at the trailer park. I had to reset the server because he kept logging in (with new toon) and kept dying instantly. we then decided to play with a local server hosted on my pc...which didn´t give so much as a single problem. also: does changing the sandboxsettings file do anything in the linx server version ? can seomeone comment on that ? thx in advance
  21. did you also play around with the sandboxsettings file ? I read you are using a windows server.... I changed the file manually on my linix server but couldnt test the results as of yet....
  22. "There are no atheists in foxholes" give us the ability to pray. or dance. sing, meditate, whatever works to keep your sanity and grip on reality that little bit longer.
  23. i wondered.. the bookstore in muldraugh has a LOT of books. but what about giving the players the ability to create new ones ? I mean we can write journals. why not entire books ? also, reading ones own journal as a way of entertainment ? by implmenting that only new books and reading material increases happiness / reduces boredom, we make books and magazines and such much more valuable. any kind of entertainment should be in high demand.... right after food, weapons, tools and medicine.... so: different kind of books, remembering which one was already read and the ability to combine journals into books. (thats easily done)
