  1. Well, here am i again too. I had the same error as zyros and TheGmork. The only error in the first script is that it has somewhere an incorrect line-ending. I replaces all line-ending (backspace + enter) after each fi. However, the next scripts also have errors (at my vps). These errors seem to be incorrect line-einding too (altho different ones). I fixed those by installing fromdos (apt-get install fromdos) and use the fromdos command on every single downloaded script file (pz-server-backup.sh, pz-server-start.sh, pz-server-update.sh) while loggedin as the pz-server user. After that, the scripts ran fine. I havent checked if the server will run tho. just sharing these pre-mature findings =)
  2. Yeah, sorry. Misread on my side. What Dr_Cox1911 said is correct. It looks like the script can't find java. I suggest to completly update your machine and install everything that is still te be installed. Then run the install java command again and see what it does after that. So I ran apt-get update, it did its thing. Then ran the original apt-get install default-jdk and it ran a script I hadn't seen the first time I did it when going through the tutorial. Now after I run the server.sh I get this Thanks for the help so far Did you also ran: wget http://kirrus.co.uk/stuff/pz/wheezy-glibc-sid.sh and: bash wheezy-glibc-sid.sh ?

  4. Be sure to install the ia32-libs (apt-get install ia32-libs). Im pretty sure that was the package you need to use .sh commands.
  5. Ahh, that might be worth adding to the guide, thanks. Definitely don't leave it at 2048 - you'll see laggy performance if it has to go into swap, and the system can basically overload itself entirely - hence recommended 70% Hmm, good call. I'll change it when im home. My guess is that the server will still work after =) Maybe this was my problem as well! In steam i'm using "onlinetest" as well. when i followed the guide (with the "iwillbackupmysave" branch) it did'nt work because of that error. I think after the 4th reinstalled i changed "iwillbackupmysave" to "onlinetest" (not sure). So the problem probably is incompatibility between the two versions?
  6. Well guys, i somehow got it working. Will try this weekend to figure out what i have done. The main points would be that before i started i ran the command apt-get update apt-get upgrade apt-get install ia32-libs And then another round of updates Also changed my memory limits to the max. So its at 2048 (the max i have).
  7. M0oskk, you have 4 gig. Could you try to allocate more ram to java like kirrus said? See if that solves anything...
  8. Not yet, tried some more java "stuff" (different jdk etc) but no luck yet... Were you guys performing a soft reset at the time the error appeared? Any information would be helpful. What do you mean by a soft reset? It's a new server + installation of zomboid. No data of any kind has been copied, so it its a fresh map where no-one has played yet. If you mean the server. I have rebooted it when i was done with the installation and everything (just to be sure). What information would be helpfull? I could check when im home again what java version has been installed? If you want, i could also give you access to the server... Can you, just for a short time, assign 3.5GB to the server? So, 3608MB? Im sorry, thats one thing i cannot do (money reasons, memory on my vps provider is expensive) =( At this moment i'm limited to 2 Gig. Who are you hosted with? Im hosted at http://www.cloudvps.com/ with the "vps2" server at this moment.

  12. What's the CPU specification? See if we can't nail down what this problem is. And mine is: Edit: Set the projectzomboid-dedi-server.sh file to 1536MB ans still the same. Seems its not the lack of memory that's the problem.
  13. Well. Thank you so far. First i'll upgrade my VPS then. See if that fixes it :/ If not. i'll be back
  14. 1GB is mighty low, you wouldn't be supporting that many player numbers with such little memory. Maybe there is a minimum memory requirement for servers? Yet the 1GB is not enough, though don't quote me on that I could be very much wrong. Well, that would be a downer. I wont quote you, but do you thing 2Gig (with 1536MB available to Java) is OK then? And i wont be supporting that many players indeed. Maybe max 6 or something at the same time.
  15. Hi Kirrus, Thank you for replying. The VPS server has a total of 1Gig at his moment. I have edited the projectzomboid-dedi-server.sh to use 512MB. I have read here that i should not be more then 80% of the total memory. So i took 50%. Edit: i have also tried 768MB yesterday. I still got the same error then however. =(
