  1. This is not realistically something we’ll be doing. We have writers on staff and are quite confident most people prefer to play and value hand-crafted works rather than what chat-gpt can produce, even before getting into limitations and ongoing, continuous cost and environmental impact such a decision would result in.
  2. Are you certain on the error message? Cause for your SteamID to be banned, someone has to manually enter it with the /ban command on their server or in the database. There's no way for many servers to simultaneously ban your steamid. It's certainly not possible for your wife's server to have banned you without doing it intentionally. It would be best to post a screenshot of the error message from a server that you did not run afoul of.
  3. You go into the configs for the server. There is no other way.
  4. As suggested by others on Discord, it’s likely to related to mods. We can’t really offer much beyond suggesting that you disable them and see if it works. We also can’t help with installs that deviate from the norm (our dedicated server pack on Steam being the normal way), such as the use of custom paths and containers beyond pointing out that something is wrong with it.
  5. It's simply that most of this doesn't fit into the game's theme nor setting. So while we "could" capitalize on whatever modders are doing, it's fairly unlikely this'll change to any great degree when NPCs come in. There'll be more story, but for a certain subset of people, "this is how you died" will always feel pointless ... and that's OK (and, depending on your philosophical bent, that's life!). They can mod it or play something else once they had their fill. Minecraft also remains one of the most successful games of all time and sees gobs of players active across PC, mobile, and console. It might have failed as an "unfolding game," but then again it was always just legos with some neat survival mechanics bolted ontop of it. That is, I don't think it ever aimed to be anything like that -- beyond taking some rather popular mods and integrating them for the 1.0, anyway. That seemed less to do with a vision and more "it's cool and it's popular, so ... sure."
  6. Project Zomboid uses Khalia2, a purely Java implementation of Lua. So it’s not really possible to use something like this.
  7. Per Pandora’s and Yana’s comments: if you do not wait for the door close action to complete, the door doesn’t close. Wait until the sound of the door closing plays before doing anything else after getting in.

The short answer is that it’s not far enough along for that or it would be out. The long answer, in addition to what Puppers said, is iwbums only had around 10-100 players at any time despite how popular game was during 41. It’s not as impactful as you’re making out and we have groups of both volunteer and paid testers pulled from the community, anyway. Until it’s reasonably complete, passes through their hands, and satisfies all involved parties, there’s nothing to release. This is also the same process that we used for b41.
  9. That's not an out of memory error. It's a crash involving loading a model. Try updating your drivers here. The first one in the list is for Windows 10. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/88190/intel-core-i56300u-processor-3m-cache-up-to-3-00-ghz/downloads.html
  10. You ran out of memory. As you don't have a dedicated graphics card and only 8 GB of RAM, it's easy to do, especially when mods are in the mix.
  11. Abee has been permanently banned. We do not support transphobia in our community. As to the suggestion, it's just down to practical limits to the base game, unfortunately It'd mean probably 2-3x the art and animation assets to pull off, so this level of detail is beyond us for the moment, but this could change in the future. Note that many of the male haircuts do work with the female mesh and vice-versa, albeit only stubble is interchangeable between them currently. This may change in the future.
  12. It takes practice; learning to interpret distance and the length of the selected weapon through trial and error. Naturally, if you're clipping through the enemy, you're far too close and waiting too long to strike or walking into the space the zombie occupies. That, itself, should be enough of a tell. Remember, the overlay is off for melee weapons by default. We're well aware it's not that useful, but some people like it and insist on using it. I'd hope it's done with knowledge of its limits, but more often people just recommend its usage blindly, so it's no wonder it's frustrating. I would love to have model-based colliders, personally, but it's probably a long way off (if it ever happens). Until then, it's just down to distance and direction.
  13. The reason the outline flashes from testing seems to be due to moving the mouse slightly when clicking or because another zombie crosses into range (becoming the closer target). Without some sort of auto-aim meant to compensate for the time it takes to think of hitting the zombie and actually clicking the mouse, I'm unsure it's fixable. Note that the underlying system does work as desired here. It's actually one of those noob traps because people will commit to an attack at the wrong zombie or a zombie out of range then twist as the animation plays to try and hit them -- but you can't because the target was decided the moment you clicked the mouse button, not during the swing animation. It may be better to think of the overlay as something more basic and less commanding: it helps you figure out the direction to face and understand min/max range of melee weapons a bit better, but not timing of swings. It isn't predictive of success, only a aid.
  14. How are you controlling this; how’d you shut them down? If you followed along with the guide in the pzwiki, you might have missed the warnings about setting up the sever as a background process. The server is not meant to be run in this manner.
  15. Two simultaneous severs need unique names, such as with the -servername name flag. They can’t share the same files.
  16. Yeah, we’re not totally happy with the current implementation and will be fleshing it out more in the future.
  17. Is it a two (or more) button mouse or Apple's magic mouse? If the latter, you'll still need to enable it in System Preferences: https://iboysoft.com/howto/right-click-on-mac.html
  18. The game already uses shaders. Without them, it’d just be a blank screen.
  19. Unfortunately, due to the age of the processor, it’s drivers do not support opengl 2.1 on Windows.
  20. Are you playing 32-bit for some reason? If so, all I can recommend is using the 64-bit version. 32-bit hasn’t been supported in many years.
  21. This is mostly how it works, as is. A virtual horde (a group of zombies) wanders the map semi-randomly, partially driven by sound and pressures of the population of each cell. Near the player, it becomes real and individual zombies are spawned where sensible. You can see it work in the population map in debug.
  22. Probably broken animations from a mod.
  23. Yeah, plate glass doesn’t shatter in real life like it does in the movies. You’re likely getting multiple deep cuts, a concussion, and probably landing sprawled out on the ground. Good way to troll people tho’.
  24. Can you not run proton without compatibility/safemode? Zoom and some shaders won’t work in safemode.
