A BIT CLOSE TO THE BONE: Zombie Cow Studios and Channel 4 offer FIRST LOOK at new game ‘Privates’, which aims to poke a little light where the sun doesn’t shine.

BRITAIN. Land of Hope and Glory-holes. Where pregnant, waddling teenagers take up the full width of the pavement with their oversized triplet pushchairs, unaware that their rampant, perpetual humping has filled them to the brim with all manner of grotty infections.

Privates is a platform twin-stick shooter in which you lead a teeny-tiny gang of condom-hatted marines as they delve into peoples’ vaginas and bottoms and blast away at all manner of oozy, shouty monsters. It’s rude, funny, bitingly satirical and technically pretty accurate if you don’t count the tiny people or the germs with teeth.

Whoops! We really ought to update this blog from time to time. Obviously nobody’s reading but that’s really not the point given that our forums are literally brimming with lots of sexy times* and frivolity. So why not sign up?

*note: no sexy times

So, what’s been happening? Well, there’s been literally some rounds of Colour me, stupid! since we last spoke and it’s only fair to do a sort of round up of the lot of them (apart from the ones I accidentally miss out).

Colour me, stupid! is a ‘just for fun’ pixel art contest where the aim is to take the outline provided and fill it in, making something funky, unique, humourous or just downright weird in the process. The winner of the previous round provides the outline for the next.

Winner: Bignobody

Winner: Ben

Winner: RobF

Winner: Seregrail7

Winner: MarkBilly

Winner: Bignobody

So well done everyone there! Have a round of applause (please provide your own applause). So, where does that leave us? Well, there’s another outline waiting to be filled! So Join in!

More information, examples, and the latest entries can be found in the Colour me, stupid! thread in our forums!

Congratulations to Revelation for winning the last round with his aliens attacking spaceship entry:

Hello all! As you may have noticed, our lovely site has an amazingly original ‘internet user communication system’ we like to call a ‘Community Forum’. It’s an idea we’re hoping will catch on! We’re not going to go into detail on how the idea occured to us, but the basic principle is that people sign up and can talk to other like-minded individuals on a range of topics. The amazing thing about our ‘Community Forums’ is that even though it’s heavily focused on indie game development, you can think up the topic yourself, and can even word it in any way you like!

So here are the top five reasons why you should join our forums, and what joy it will bring to your life!

1) Prestige and bragging rights - Picture the scene: You’re in the pub with your friends, and one says to another. “Hey, you know, the internet is great and all for looking up pictures of boobies and reading spam. I just wish there was a way I could talk to people about indie game development!” Picture their faces when you proudly announce that you can in fact communicate with over 20 people (and counting) on that very subject. Using only your keyboard!

2) Good health - The Indie Stone Community Forums have been dermatologically tested, and contains no known carcinogenic substances. Join our forums and we can guarantee it will not make you any less healthy*.

3) Build Relationships - It is scientifically proven that people you meet on the internet are both funnier and better looking than real-life counterparts. Join in our forums and meet lifelong friends from over 5 countries that you can share in the good times and ’socially bond’ with in a revolutionary new way! Looking for love? With over none females, and over 20 males on our databases, that next romance may be just around the corner!

4) Learn new skills - Learn all about what it takes to be full time indie with a wide array of tutorials on all facets of indie game development apart from music production, marketing and other important skills! But forget those examples, as we shouldn’t have focused on those really!

5) Use revolutionary ‘communication features’ - Our ‘Community Forums’ have a wide host of impressive and original features that allow you to say things on the internet to other people. Features such as ‘threads’, which allow multiple people’s words to be laid out on a single page (or more!) so you can keep track of what people are talking about. Also our critically acclaimed ‘PM’ system, which even allows you to communicate in private without anyone else being able to see! You can even select a small graphical representation of yourself, be it an icon, a photo, or even a character from your favourite movie. The possiblities are endless.

So sign up now, otherwise you may miss out on what is sure to be the birth of an exciting new time in the internet. And stay tuned for our revolutionary ’signature system’, the details of which we’re keeping to ourselves for now!

* Moderation of forum usage, along with good diet and exercise is essential for a healthy lifestyle.
