  1. I thank you all for your feedback, I realise that it may be kind of immersion breaking, but what if there was an option to turn nightmares off in the options?
  2. (Ugh. Accidentally pressed the back button on my keyboard, retyping, ahoy!) Hello, fellow survivors! This, is my idea. Straight into it, shall we? So then, I was watching a Project Zomboid stream, and this guy got bit, went to sleep, and it said "You wake up, bathed in sweat". I don't know if this is a part of the game, or a mod, he did mention a mod called "The Sleep Mod" or something, so I'm going to guess mod. So what do I do? Ask what it means. He said something along the lines of "Nightmare, is what it means." So that's where I come in! What does the game do? Well, I'm glad you asked! So, the plan for this suggestion, is obviously, adding nightmares! If your character has any mentally degrading moodles, like depressed, sad, etc etc, depending on the level of the moodlet, there is a certain percent chance to go to 1 of 200 pre-defined nightmare worlds, which, fun stuff happens. On the first level of mentally degrading moodles, there is a 10% chance to get teleported upon sleeping, second there is a 30%, third there is a 50% etc etc, and upon teleportation, a stupidly spooky sound gets played, and the characters inventory gets wiped (ONLY for the duration of the time in the nightmare world) The world will just be a relatively large 2 story house, surrounded by very tall fences 5 tiles away. The character will then say some pre-defined (<--- How many times is that?) text, then at the end of the text, he will say "Wait...What was that?" Then, zombies will start spawning at the corners of the nightmare world, at the rate of 10 per second. The player is given a hammer, a random weapon, and 2 duffel bags, one filled with planks, and one filled with nails. Outside the house, the floor would be jet black, if the player steps on this ground, he instantly dies, zombies, however, can walk across freely. They player would then, if having gone through hundreds of nightmares, and bored of it, can simply walk outside to escape. If the first few times in nightmares, they player can have fun, it's a sort of defence minigame, to just mess around. Upon the death of the player, the player will be teleported back to his bed, a message would appear on screen, saying "You wake up from a devastating nightmare, you are covered in sweat." He/she would also get his inventory back to how it was, all his moodles etc etc. This, Pre-Defined character speech would appear on screen, "Oh...my god. Thank god that was a nightmare." The player would then get a negative moodle, "Recent Nightmare" Which lasts for an hour or two. The moodle combines pretty much every current negative moodle, giving major decrease in accuracy etc etc, minus the less healing, because logic. Nightmares don't stop natural healing abilities, to my knowledge. The player then can continue playing, as normal. This makes the player have the desire to get rid of the majority of negative moodles, if they wish to avoid nightmares. Thanks for spending time reading this huge wall of text. Happy Surviving! - Crocidolite. Edit : Due to my fail and going back and not finding the way to access saved content (the post saves every now and then to stop this happening) I typed this up in around 2 minutes. If something doesn't make sense, just tell me, and I will fix it, and I probably missed out an entire section of the suggestion, so, meh. Edit Zwei : The twitch stream I was watching was http://www.twitch.tv/danshu15, amazing stream. Recommend to watch! Edit Drei : If you see my profile picture, and don't recognise it, it is a modified Ronald Lee Ermey playing Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, from the film : Full Metal Jacket. (Modified by me in Gimp 2)
