I can't see this happen without tampering the java source code, and even with that it would be an extremely hard rework. I'd say it's pretty much impossible you'll ever see this mod.

ANOTHER QUESTION: how will you manage timed events like the power outage? will a player who join the server after those events occurred never be able to experience them? AND AGAIN: will you prevent griefing? if yes, how? ANOTHER ONE: Will zombies respawn forever? Will the players be able to exterminate every one and each of them? OH GOD NOT ANOTHER ONE: Will it be possible to grow a family and make children to play after your character's inevitable death? PLEASE STOP: Will single player still be developed or is multiplayer the main focus? If not, how will you manage the mods on the server? F*CK YOU TERRAZ: What if my character is really f*cking tired but I still want to play and don't want to log off to make it sleep? Do I have to switch server? SERIOUSLY YOU SHOULD DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT: If logging off makes your character disappear, how will you prevent the possibility to spawn in the middle of a zombie horde when you log back in? I don't know if I'd really enjoy a turn-based system in PZ, in all tactical games like fallout, X-COM etc.. you needed the turn based system to plan your movein a way to simulate various actions acting together and to decide tactically what to do. Problem here is that you MUST NOT HAVE the option to 'plan', you have to shit your pants when a zombie crawls out of a closet, you have to panic: fight or flight reaction like in the nature, that's the strongest point of the action in this game. With the auto-pause system you remove almost any dose of panic and struggle this game has to offer, especially since you would always do a 'move-attack' action every turn since you don't have any sort of special spell or ability like in the aforementioned games.
