  1. I think it'd be cool if the firearm condition system all depends on how you treat your gun. For example. you could have an option to clean it or find some kind of oil. Frankly I don't know enough about guns, but I do know that a well-maintained gun lasts a very long time. I do like the idea of gun parts, though don't you think there should be a "mechanic" skill or something? To even know what part is broken you'd need some kind of knowledge about how mechanical parts work.
  2. Just wanna say, the steam trailer is AWESOME. Very well done Oh and great job as well on the explanation video as well Ringo! Very informative.
  3. I'm a huge hip-hop head. The Roots, Wu-Tang, MF DOOM, NAS, Edan, Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, etc. About the only creative hobby I have is sampling and making hip-hop beats. I love most other genres of music as well (you have to if you want to make good beats), rock, punk, classical, jazz, blues, etc. but hip-hop is my true first love. I'd love to talk hip-hop with someone, and I'm tempted to make it's own thread but I find in the gaming community hip-hop isn't exactly the most popular genre of music. More recently I've been obsessed with French hip-hop like Klub Des Loosers and MC Solaar. (King Geedorah is a reference to an MF DOOM alias of the same name)
  4. Windows 7 64 bit Processor AMD Turion II P540 Dual-Core Processor Manufacturer AMD Speed 2.4 GHz Number of Cores 2 Video Card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series Manufacturer ATI Chipset ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series Dedicated Memory 256 MB Total Memory 1.9 GB RAM Memory 3.8 GB Okay so my in game fps with multicore enabled is 15 when standing still, 6-10 when moving. No change really with a zombie in sight. I'm getting the info from FRAPS. Multi-core disabled leads to no real difference.
  5. If the software isn't too hard to use (if it's like say COH world builder) I'd be very down to join a group map project. It'd work best if you assigned one person to making all the buildings and roads and warehouses etc. and another person to detailing everything. It'd be cool, and I've always been interested in map design though the only game I've ever done it (somewhat) successfully for is Company of Heroes.
  6. Such a great game And yeah I recall playing a game with about the same amount of people/planets and it went on for like 30+ hours lol. Epic is the word I would use to describe it.. Worst part though was I didn't even end up winning
  7. I'm just going to describe mine. 17 inch laptop on my bed with a mouse pad and notebook for a hard surface... haha, my desk is currently erm.... indisposed... It's quite... sad... and probably really, really bad for my back. It will however make me appreciate the sh-t out of having a nice surface again Also, I could stare at your picture for hours. that is all. PS is that Sins of A Solar Empire you've got going there? Can't tell, it's been forever since I played that game.
  8. With the addition of the 3-D engine, weapons and sprites will be a lot less work to add. I'm sure someone has brought up a military knife, and I'm sure it's something Indie Stone will do... Eventually. Right now, it's more important that they get all the ground work taken care of because frankly, it gets easier and easier to add things the better your foundation is. I too want a hunting knife, Rambo style, 14 inch blade, you know So yeah, I'd imagine this and all sorts of new weapons will be added in future updates edit: I could be wrong about the 3-D engine making things easier, but I know I've heard people talking about things becoming easier to introduce in to the game recently.
  9. If they do indeed implement rats/ mice as the eternal enemy of your crops, I could see a great need for cats. However if that's the only reason they'd have to implement them (cats), I doubt they'd do it. Dogs can do a lot of things which makes implementing them more worth it.
  10. Now I searched the forums and I couldn't find anything on this so I started the topic. Jerky is already in the game, which- and correct me if I'm wrong- just involves drying meat and adding salt. Sooo why not be able to make smoked goods? It lasts significantly longer than regularly cooked food and you can pretty much smoke any kind of meat (though I've never heard of smoked chicken). I hope this already hasn't been brought up- I was surprised not to find anything. Maybe that's too challenging but I figure in a survival game, you're going to want to be able to keep food good for as long as possible. Also, being able to make jerky instead of just finding it would be awesome too. You'd just need to find salt and somehow dry it for like a day (or however long it takes, I didn't exactly research the process of making jerky) Edit: Ugh, I saw that someone was working on a smoked meats mod so I guess this has already been brought up. **sorry!**
  11. This would be awesome. I spend way too much time watering things and you're right, it detracts from me playing "more fun" aspects of the game. aka exploring, looting, killin zeds, you know you know.
  12. Uh... Is this actually how NPC's are going to work? Kinda like the game Kenshi where you slowly recruit an army of people to work for you doing whatever you want? That would be mad impressive, but I'm not holding my breath
  13. Okay thank you. Good to know it's not just me I thought I might have procured a virus or something.
  14. Sorry I should have mentioned that the high cpu usage is causing pretty bad lag. It's cool though, I see lots of people are having performance issues. I only thought to check here because I thought it was odd that from one build to the next my cpu usage almost doubled. Now I see it is by design, thank you.
