  1. When illnesses are more defined and the dangers of stagnant water are involved it would balance the benifits of doing this I think.
  2. Im happy with short blades (durability is the only issue). If it's Serrated, even better
  3. Plant oil mixed with alcohol works if you find the right mix
  4. If skull integrity was lost they simply wouldn't be able to bite. A bite doesn't just happen in the jaw, pressure is applied across the whole structure of your head and neck. Certain things can rot (skin is fine), however, as Troblin stated, loss of durability means loss of function
  5. The skull isnt very easy to penetrate in reality, so I wouldnt mind things being tougher. When vehicles are in, Id like to see Z's who changed while wearing motorbike helmets etc. There is quite a number of ways to add a bit of complexity without going into 'special power' zombies, which I am very glad, wont be added to the game
  6. Ibe always loved the games that give a bit of a history of your character. Fallout 2 had a bit of it that really gave a bigger feel of your avatar in the game
  7. A nice cool shower would be an amazing way to cool off! Ive never seen snow. When I was very young I once asked my father if we could go to play in snow. He opened the freezer, scraped his hang along its roof and threw a handful of freezer ice at me....he was a bit of a bastard
  8. I thoroughly agree with you that a torniquet applied to a limb for initial control of catastophic haemorrhage is the best course of action. There is figures showing that it IS the best thing to do, based off of the use of the CAT. I will mention though that there is also significant numbers of surgical limb removal from people applying makeshift torniquet's
  9. A combine dressing is a cotton pad that is used to control haemorrhage. The military version is often called a 'shell dressing' (contains no actual shells). The most common shell dressing used today is called the Israeli Battle Dressing, which is by far, superior to anything that has come before it. Im moving houses at the moment, however, once Im settled in Ill endeavour to make a short video to show their use/application. Atleast this hotel has free wifi
  10. I ask you all to pretty please NEVER apply a torniquet to your neck. Anyone who offers to do that for you just wants to see you dead. Arterial haemmorhage can be controlled by a correctly applied torniquet, however, a combine should be the first thing you try. Im really enjoying peoples enthusiasm in this thread!
  11. Its all good, we are all human and make mistakes.
  12. Plastering a boarded window would work a blanket, pillow or cut up piece of mattress foam would go great aswell
  13. I can see what you are saying Konrad. So a mental conditioning of not just the soldiers, but the populace in general. That way a soldier can't make a proper choice between a lawful order and an unlawful one due to political/social pressure. I wont talk about the MEAO because it is largely misunderstood and the vehemence with which people defend their perception is outside what I like to talk about. However, in my opinion, wars will continue to happen as long as there is humans. In most countries, soldiers do not make the choice to go to war or not, however, we are employed to perform that task if we are called upon to do so, by the (elected?) government/ruler. To me there is two reasons that wars happen and they are not mutually exclusive. The first is greed, plain and simple greed. The second is Revolutionary. To remove from power a ruler/ruling body which is persecuting it's people. Now you might say that fear has caused some wars, however I believe this still falls into the greed category. A perception of someone having an advantage and desiring that advantage for oneself, or at the very least, destroy the advantage so that one may advance beyond the other. Remember though, KISS (Keep it simple, stupid) The more complex your plan, the more chance it can/will fail. Apologies in advance to grammar Nazis, it's midnight here. I'm very ready for sleep. I'm sure you will happily correct any spelling errors in your own time.
  14. So much prejudice. Why do people think the military will be their enemy? Is there some phenomenon where soldiers suddenly become aggressive against their neighbours, friends and family once an apocalypse happens that I don't know about? Am I infected with this unreasoning need to attack my fellow countrymen if there is a societal breakdown? Have I been injected with mind controlling nanites? Will they deactivate them when I discharge in a month? or are they active for life?
