Zaph
Hi, I haven't played this game in a few months and I am trying to set up a server so my wife and I can play together. I have the ports forwarded, TCP+UDP 16261-16263. I run the ProjectZomboidServer.bat and it says the server is running and listening to port 16261. I try to create it in the game and have tried using my IPv4, default gateway and my IPv6 ip addresses but none work it just says, "The server failed to respond" I have uninstalled and reinstalled, diabled the steam overlay, ran in safe mode, looked up guides on setting up servers but I can't run my own. I can connect to a public server but we just want to play just the two of us right now. Any tips on how I can get this bad boy up and running? btw I have 6g of ram on my pc and can run Terraria and Minecraft servers without any problems so I know my PC isn't struggling or anything. Thanks in advance!
Rabisco
Now that is old but it can be left without a answer. Are you running a Steam Server? If NO, did you set the Project Zomboid to run as -nosteam?
MrDeliberto
Maybe something with Firewall from your computer or modem, since running a server of a game I had to disable the modem Firewall (or router), if you both also utilize the same network you can temtar disable the Firewall on your computer and also his antvirus, I do not know if Project Zomboid servers have this problem, but they are just a few clicks to try. Good luck
