revengeofgibbon
Hey guys, Reinstalled the Dedicated Server on a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 instance through steamcmd, everything was going swimmingly until I attempted to run the start-server script. I'm getting a hang and unresponsive server after the 'SteamUtils initialised correctly' line. Any thoughts? Forgive me if this has been solved already, searching the forums didn't bring up any fixes. revengeofgibbon
Right, bumping this with more details since there's been no interest so far. Today I did a fresh install, and it looks like the server runs fine the first time around, creates the /Zomboid directory and servertest files correctly. However, after killing the process and changing some stuff in servertest_SandboxVars.lua, it refuses to restart, hanging at the same point. Anyone else got this issue? EnigmaGrey
How did you kill the process?
revengeofgibbon
Ctrl-C inside the screen session, then Ctrl-A k y to kill that session.
EnigmaGrey
That'd be why. The ports won't be freed .etc Use save and quit within the terminal and only close it out after it's done.
revengeofgibbon
Will give it a go, thanks! EnigmaGrey
revengeofgibbon
Nope, doesn't make any difference. Same console output.
revengeofgibbon
Right, think I've solved the issue - I believe it's related to this issue: http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/16495-stuck-loading/ The fix in thread didn't work, but installing rng-tools did.
