Annoying beeping on multiplayer startup

bakaAnnsan101

Question

I got PZ yesterday, and it ran perfect for the whole 11 hours i've played it since (pretty addicting). Today, after opening the game and trying to join a multiplayer server, the command box goes crazy and the game starts to beep? Like, actual, loud, annoying beeping. A lot of text goes through the command box. This is after the starting cutscene that says "This is how you die" (or something like that).

I've tried verifying integrity of files on steam, comes up to be fine. I posted some screen shots, sorry the last two are a bit cut off. It should be noted that i am on the beta, but i have played on the beta before.

Help? Thanks so much <3.

Definitely not hard drive space--330GB of that. I went back in the Zomboid folder and took out my character for that server, found two files, one with the character's name and one with the character's name and then 'crash.' Is this of significance?

When i move both of those files out, i can successfully create a new character on that server.

I would just like to know what this error is and how to fix it in order to get my things back (and my skills).

I had a similar problem myself and I wasn't able to get my stuff back - the only way to fix it so I could still use my account was to delete the folder that carried my stuff.

I wonder with you when you exited the sever did you do it by pressed "Esc" and then clicked exit with your mouse to go to the main menu screen or did you actually exit the application while still connected to the server by other means?

If it is the latter I think what happens if the game crashes at all or if you exit the program without logging off the server first it may corrupt your character since it didn't save and can't like load where you last were possibly?

I've have happened to have this issue right when my PC was bloated up with huge temp files that took over 200 gigs of data. My hard drive memory reached zero in the middle of the game and I had to close it in order to figure out the problem.

When I logged back in, this beeping sound and "error" appeared but I just deleted the savefile of my character, saved on that particular server, because I thought that it was caused by a lack of memory to save character progression on exit. So, can you check if you have enough space on hard drive, or had enough of it by the time you tried to save-quit the game?
