A quick reminder for everyone what IWBUMS threads are for, since we had some trouble in the last one. This thread is for giving feedback on features SPECIFIC TO THE CURRENT IWBUMS RELEASE. That means balance concerns, specific feedback on potential bugs, and general thoughts on new features. If we see posts asking for unrelated tech support, offering unrelated suggestions, or complaining they will be moved or deleted. Thanks.                --Rathlord

When scratched by a zombie and infected, the infected tag does not appear in the wound.

I believe this is intentional. It adds quite the sense of dread any time you see a little scratch. I cut myself on a window in the game, and started to get my sick. Even though I'd not even fought a zed yet, I managed to convince myself I was infected and just running down the clock until death.

Turns out he just spent too much time in the rain. Needed some soup and sleep :P I love not KNOWING if I've been infected.

I think it was better before the change, as you would notice your wound being dirty and swollen against clean and sanitized. It is not realistic to notice normal infection but not zombie infections.

Well, the symptoms of zombie infection do show; you get queasy, weak, etc. I think the "Infected" tag on the health screen is in reference to the wound itself, not related to whatever virus you might have swimming around in your blood. It seems that it's possible to contract the zombie virus while suffering a wound that does not itself get infected.

The point is not knowing that it's actually a zombie infection, though. What if the two just look the same?

A scratch doesn't always infect you so it could just be a normal wound infection. It's part of the suspense

Generally, I never feel the suspense. If I was scratched by a zombie and I see "Infected" I know I'm dead. If I jumped through a window and see infected I just Alcohol Wipe the hell out of that and carry on. I feel like wound infections are downplayed. We have Antibiotic item in the game files and scripts that does nothing atm. so that might change and I'm looking forward to it but for now suspense is non-existent unless you're new to the game and even then it's a thing most people will learn very quickly.

Wait, I`m lost, so if this question is misplaced, sorry... anyway, here it goes:

Are we IWBUMS 31.10? How I follow up to know our actual Build (the numbers after the ".").

Thank you, and sorry.

Infected in the Health panel has nothing to do with the Zombie virus, I believe.  That just indicates a regular bacterial infection in the wound.

Scratches and such caused by both zombies and other things can display the orange "Infected" text next to the wound. There is no real way to tell the difference between the two.

Sorry... I`m dumb as ... well as dumb as possible... how the "term of agreement" for IWBUMS answers my previous question, that was: Are We IWBUMS 31.5, .6, .7, .8, .9, .10??

Current Publicly available Stable version is Build 31.9 IWBUMS idicates that the version is available only to those who decided that they want to participate in Beta testing. It is available and is more or less the current version but it's not fully available to the general public.

As far as I can tell, this is the case. I had a character get scratched by a zombie, and the scratch got infected. I decided to treat the wound and play it out, and he survived. After a few days of disinfecting and bandage changes, the wound healed and my health went back to OK.
