Zombie AI question

So I've got a question on whether or not this is intentional (I know they've been working on Zombie AI lately). Zombies naturally clump now, which is a great thing. However, there still seems to be a problem with their AI. I might have been mistaken, but I thought somewhere in one the recent patch notes it stated that they could alert and aggro nearby zombies when they spot you.

If they are suppose to be capable of doing this, then its simply not working at all. I can still consistently pull out 1~3 zombies from large packs, slowly whittling them down. I've actually been able to aggro zombies that had to shove other zombies out of the way through a pack to reach me, without alerting other zombies.

Right now this encourages me to clear out zombies as much as possible to avoid letting them form large packs that may or may not be unmanageable. Hopefully its just some kinks that need to be worked out of their AI, and if its not, they should defiantly be able to alert nearby zombies when they aggro you.

Then don't set their memory to low

:S

I'm not, this is playing on the default survival (not sure what their memory is set to on survival?)

But yeah, the clumping is great, but when one of them goes "attack" mode, that should defiantly alert the others into attack mode. When I watched the one zombie shove 4 or 5 other zombies out of the way to get to me without aggroing the others, that was a bit on the silly side.

Its not a far stretch, most zombie lore works this way. They naturally group together, and when one gets aggressive, it alerts the others and they tend to follow.

that just affects how quickly they forget, it doesn't fundamentally alter the behavior. Set to normal, it does the same, just takes a bit longer. Actually it's easier since they will follow me out of range in the clump, making them easier to dispatch.
