On knifes

I've begun playing some PZ again in build 29. 

And I've noticed something that may or may not be useful for others.

Knifes. Hunting knifes in particular. They are better than hammers. I'm serious. I spawned in the police station in WP. Found two hunting knifes. Figure that I'll go to my usual safe house spot since it's only one block away. I'm able to sneak around a hoard(Thank god for being lightfooted). And sneak to the house without to much chaos(with the knife instakill). THE ALARM GOES OFF. IN THE MIDDLE OF A GOD DAMN HOARD. BUT...

With the insane instakill on the "you're screwed" range - The one where you give up in the middle of a hoard - I'm able to kill everything and get out without a scratch. Literally only a bruice. I'm now boarding up some broken windows after the unfortunate alarm.

And THAT'S why you should always have a knife at hand.

Is your char a construction worker? I find knives incredibly useful against runners, but I never tried using them when surrounded, my character seems to get scratched and bit so fast that I doubt I could survive even if I somehow managed to stab them all.

Hammers you don't get tired easily either, but I'm guessing knives are even longer before you get winded.

I use knives whenever possible to avoid exertion (hunting knives are definitely much better than hammers, situationally I even find them better than axes), but if you managed to kill off a bunch of zombies whilst being attacked on all sides without suffering a scratch or bite, then you simply got very very lucky.

I am all about the hunting knife lately. I used to only use the hammer, but the instakill with the knife is so much more satisfying. There is definitely a length of time where the zombie is in range but before they actually attack you. When you get the timing down its way more efficient than the hammer. I love it.

Yes, my characters tend to be butter knife warriors until I get a hunting knife and a pound of duct tape. Don't count on the face stab timing working out if you play on laggy servers, though.

I've mostly been a "Dash-Attack Axe Man" with my playthroughs, i'll have to try out the hunting knife!
